DOCUMENTARIST's 3rd edition is going to be held at 22-27th June 2010. DOCUMENTARIST doesn’t have an official submission procedure or any deadline. The program mainly consists of films participating on invitation basis. However, we are very interested in hearing about the latest films and you are welcome to send us a DVD screener of your work.

SaturDox / Documentary Meetings

02.01.2010 - Starting on 9 January 2010, DEPO and DOCUMENTARIST is organizing documentary screenings on every other Saturday. The screening program at DEPO titled SaturDox / Documentary Meetings is accompanied by presentations by professionals and academicians working in related fields. A selection of noteworthy examples of world documentary films from the DOCUMENTARIST archive and the work of local documentary filmmakers will be included in the program.

An outlook to human rights

08.12.2009 - DOCUMENTARIST is adding a new event to the scope of activities it arranges through out the year: “Which Human Rights?” Aiming to raise the question of human rights through the films that convey striking experiences from different parts of the world as well as from Turkey, we organizes a week of documentary films on 14-17 December 2009 on the occasion of the Human Rights Day. The main theme of this year’s event is ‘prison’. For more info: >>>

Films dedicated to peace

05.09.2009 - On the occasion of the Turkey's World Peace Day celebrations, marked on September 1st, DOCUMENTARIST has featured a selection of documentaries from its past editions. The free-of-charge special screenings took place between Saptember 1st-3rd, in Union Church of Palais de Hollande in Beyoglu, were constantly packed by documentary enthusiasts.

The prensentation of seven documentaries includes "Burma VJ - Reporting From A Closed Country" by Anders Ostergaard, "The Heart of Jenin" by Marcus Vetter and Leon Geller, "Grozny Dreaming" by Fulvio Mariani and Mario Casella, "Who Am I?" by Estela Bravo, "To See If I'm Smiling" by Tamar Yalom, "His Lost Land" by Koert Davidse and "Finding Home" by Christopher Daley.
